November 12, 2011
Dear beloved students,
With deep concern I have learned that many of you have been facing difficulties during this flood crisis. The opinions and suggestions from you and your parents are highly appreciated. Please be assured that the BU Executives and the Administration have been processing relevant data and plan for a continuous good quality of instruction, while having a high consideration of the safety and convenience of our faculty and students, the ongoing flood situation, and possible problem solving amid this crisis.
Many of your questions regarding the beginning of the classes and the senior students’ concern about their study and upcoming graduation were addressed 2 days ago with the adjusted academic calendars for all programs. And I would like now to provide further information, as follows:
- 1. As the University offers various types of curriculums and their instructions involve many complex issues, the University Announcement is a general message for all curriculums and major projects and targets the majority of students. My apology to those students who are still not clear in spite of the general announcement sent earlier. The University will provide additional information on its website and in the URSA which the Schools and the Public Relations Department will disseminate via Facebook to the students. Questions are also welcome via university telephones and emails.
- According to the previous Announcement, the University has planned for an integrated instruction that properly corresponds with each academic area. The style of instruction is the integration of classroom teaching, online learning and assignments of projects. The relevant details and methods of instruction for each class will be gradually uploaded in the URSA. Please read these data and communicate with your instructors so that they can consider solutions in case you are unable to attend classes.
- For those who have problems in viewing the data in the URSA, please contact the Computer Center at 02-350-3500 ext. 1710.
- The enrollment and the adding-dropping schedule for the Undergraduate Thai programs for all years is still the same – during November 29 - December 2, 2011 – at the University Auditorium (SC), City Campus. Keeping this enrollment schedule unchanged is necessary since it allows the university administration to accurately identify the number of students who would like to take classes. These data will in turn enable the administration to arrange the class schedules that suit the number of students, and to plan, if needed, extra classes during the Summer Semester. For those who are in a crisis situation and are unable to enroll or add-drop for classes during the specified period of time, please inform the University by phone: 02-350-3500 ext. 1551 or email:

In case of late enrollment, please process this by Wednesday, December 15, 2011 so that appropriate classroom arrangement can be made. The late enrollment fee is waived for this semester. For those who still have ongoing problems due to the flood crisis, please consult the university staff on the days of enrollment, or by phone or email so that the adjournment of payment can be taken into our consideration. The university has various measures prepared for helping students.
- Please feel free to contact us or send your questions, concerns, problems regarding the instruction of the Undergraduate Thai programs and the Graduate School at 02-350-3500 ext. 1510 or 1601 (Academic Affairs), at 1111 (Call Center) or at 02-350-3608 (Graduate School) during our office hours. Mathana Santiwat, Ph.D.
